Willowtree

The year was 1999. 5 teenagers in the appropriately named band Willowtree
(there is poetic justice in the name - the average height of the band is
6 foot 4) had just won the European finals of the Emergenza Festival in Germany. The band got signed on the spot and went on to record and release its debut album in 2002.
Willowtree performed throughout Europe and in the United States on several occasions including the Vans Warp Tour, SXSW, and CBGBs. Capping a great start to their career, one of the band's videos was even nominated for top ten honors on MTV!

Fast forward a bit (after 2 years of constant gigging), we are now in the summer of 2005. Willowtree has just completed the recording of their second full-length album entitled "What A Way To Go!".
Done in collaboration with producer Ronald Bood (Keane, Mando Diao, and Shout Out Louds among others), the result should establish this band as one of the more interesting acts of the last 2 years in Europe along with the likes of the Kaizer Chiefs, Razor Light, and Franz Ferdinand.
Catchy melodies and simple yet driving guitar sounds, makes this band interesting and likable far beyond they Swedish good looks (tall, blonde, good looking and talented?....brilliant combination). Be on the look out for the first radio single this Fall. The album " What Way to Go " will be available in Scandinavia through Undertow/Warner Music and is slated for an early 2006 release in Germany through Oh My Sweet Records/Track1/ Al!ve.
A further release Through Track1 will follow in the States with promo and tour support
